GB 14536.3-2008 is the English-translated version of 家用和类似用途电自动控制器 电动机热保护器的特殊要求.
GB 14536.3-2008 — This chapter of GB/T 14536.1-2022 applies except for the following. replace.
This document is applicable to some evaluations of household and similar motor thermal protectors defined in GB/T 14536.1, including those used in engine Motor thermal protectors in heat, air conditioning and similar applications and hermetic (hermetic and semi-hermetic) motor-compressors.
Note. The motor thermal protector is considered as an integral controller, and its protective function depends on the correct installation and fixing inside or on the surface of the motor, and and can only be combined with the relevant motor together for a complete test.
This dependency is illustrated by the following points. ---The motor thermal protector can accurately and reliably sense the heating of the motor winding, which solves the problem of excessive temperature of the motor when it is overloaded; ---The motor thermal protector can accurately and reliably sense the current value when the motor is locked, thus reducing the response time of the thermal protector and making the assembly point free are adversely affected by thermal issues; ---The electromagnetic field of the motor affects the breaking action of the motor thermal protector, especially the direction of the arc between the contacts, which makes the contact material wear unevenly, Eventually the operation fails.
The combined test requirements for hermetic (hermetic and semi-hermetic) motor-compressors and motor thermal protectors are specified in IEC 60335-2-34 listed. This document applies to motor thermal protectors using NTC or PTC thermistors.
Additional requirements are included in Appendix J. 1.1 This document applies to the intrinsic safety of the equipment and the operating values, operating times and operating sequences related to the safety of the equipment; or similar equipment and tests of motor thermal protectors for hermetic (hermetic and semi-hermetic) motor-compressors.
This document applies to electrical motor thermal protectors within the scope of IEC 60335-1 and its special requirements, but is not limited to this scope. Note.
In this document, the word "equipment" refers to "apparatus and equipment".
Thermal protectors not intended for general household use, but which may still be used by the public, such as those intended for use in shops, light industry and agriculture for equipment used by non-professionals in the field, the motor thermal protector used is still within the scope of this document.
This document does not apply to thermal motor protectors designed for industrial applications. 1.2 This document does not apply to other motor protection devices. 1.3 This document does not apply to manual devices for disconnecting circuits.

It should be noted that IEC 60730-2-22:2014 is based on IEC 60730-1:2010, but when this document was drafted, IEC 60730-1:2015 has been officially published, and the revision of this version corresponding to the national standard has been started in China, that is, GB/T 14536.1-2022, which is in order to maintain the consistency of iterations of the GB/T 14536 series of standard versions, this document has been appropriately revised based on the content of IEC 60730-1:2015.
Adjustment.
The product corresponding to this document is a thermal protector for household and similar motors, whose function is to trigger the thermal protector when the motor is overloaded or blocked.
The protector cuts off the power supply of the motor, so as to achieve the purpose of over-temperature or over-current protection. The thermal protector with the above characteristics has the advantages of simple structure, it is widely used in household and similar occasions because of its reliable features. Due to the operating value, operating time and operating sequence of the thermal protector it is closely related to the safety of the protected object, so on the basis of equivalently adopting IEC 60730-2-22:2014, it combines the technical terms the latest product technology in the motor thermal protector industry has formulated this document.
This revision mainly solves the problem of synergy between national standards and international standards and the problem of aging standards, ensuring the timeliness and continuation of standards.
It provides strong technical support for product promotion and application, and guides and regulates the design, manufacture and selection of motor thermal protectors.
It provides the basis for model, performance test and product acceptance, which is conducive to improving the technical performance, safety and reliability of the product, and promoting the improvement of its technical level.
