Scope

GB 12526-1990 is the English-translated version of 远程光电测距规范.

GB 12526-1990 specifies the methods and technical requirements for measuring side lengths in the first- and second-order national geodetic control networks with long-range electro-optical distance meters of nominal accuracy not lower than ±(5 mm + 1 ppm·D) and a range of at least 15 km, and the checks to be made on the instruments.

It applies to first- and second-order chain and network sides, base sides and first- and second-order traverse sides, and may be followed for other side measurements of comparable accuracy.

The instrument checks cover the fine measuring frequency (|Deltaf/f0| < 1 ppm), the additive constant, the cyclic error, the optical plummet, the ventilated psychrometers and aneroid barometers, and the theodolite; the measurement clauses cover centring elements, station heights, line and time selection, the observation programme of Table 1 (24 sets per side in first order, 16 in second order), meteorological readings and barometer corrections, recording and rejection rules.

The calculation clauses give the meteorological, centring, wave path curvature and frequency corrections and the slope distance of the measured side, and the annexes deal with the check and operating methods.
