1 Scope
This section YS/T 820 specifies the method for the determination of manganese content of nickel laterite ore.
This section applies to the determination of the amount of manganese in the nickel laterite ore. Measurement range. 0.050% to 1.00%.
2 Method summary
After the sample with hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid and perchloric acid decomposition, and hydrochloric acid soluble salts. 2% hydrochloric acid medium, atomic absorption spectroscopy Wavelength 279.5nm at using air - acetylene flame to deduct the background absorbance measured as manganese, calculate the amount of manganese.
3 Reagents
Unless otherwise indicated in the analysis using only recognized as analytical grade reagents and distilled or deionized water or equivalent purity.
3.1 hydrochloride (rho1.19g/mL).
Nitrate 3.2 (rho1.40g/mL).
3.3 Hydrofluoric acid (rho1.13g/mL).
3.4 perchloric acid (rho1.67g/mL).
3.5 hydrochloride (11).
3.6 hydrochloride (298).
3.7 manganese standard stock solution. Weigh 1.0000g of manganese metal (wMn>=99.95%) placed in 250mL beaker, add 20mL hydrochloric acid (3.5), dissolved by heating, and evaporated to dryness, dissolved with the amount of hydrochloric acid (3.6), cooled to room temperature, transferred to 1000mL volumetric flask with hydrochloric acid (3.6) diluted to the mark, and mix. 1mL solution containing 1mg manganese.
3.8 Manganese standard solution. Pipette 10.00mL manganese standard stock solution (3.7) placed in 100mL flask with hydrochloric acid (3.6) diluted to the mark Degree, and mix. This solution 1mL containing 100µg manganese.
4 Instrument
Atomic absorption spectrometer, with a manganese hollow cathode lamp.
Under instrument conditions, who can achieve the following indicators atomic absorption spectrometer can be used.
--- Characteristic concentration. the test solution is consistent with the measurement of the solution, the characteristic concentration of manganese should not exceed 0.054µg/mL;
--- Precision. measure 10 times the absorbance of the highest concentration of the standard solution, the standard deviation should not exceed 1% of the average absorbance; with the lowest concentration of standard solution (not a "zero" standard solution) absorbance measured 10 times, and the standard deviation should not exceed the maximum concentration 0.5% of the mean absorbance of the standard solution;
--- Linear curve. the curve according to concentration is divided into five parts, the difference between the absorbance of the absorbance difference between the highest and the lowest segment Ratio of not less than 0.70.
