This is Part 1 of the series on vehicle feature recognition systems, and it deals with motor vehicles. It gives the technical specification for artificial intelligence systems that recognise the features of motor vehicles, such as those seen by cameras on roads and in parking or access areas. The part sets out the technical side of the recognition system for this vehicle type.

Developers of recognition software and equipment, system integrators, operators of traffic and parking management systems and test organisations are the typical users. The standard is voluntary (code with /T). It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 28 April 2026 and takes effect on 28 April 2026. It is a new standard. Part 2 of the series covers non-motor vehicles.
