This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, markings, packaging, transportation and storage of vehicle air conditioner (HFC-134a) receiver dryer (hereinafter referred to as receiver dryers).

This standard is applicable to vehicle air conditioner receiver dryer with HFC- 134a as the refrigerant, working pressure at 0 ~ 2.5 MPa, effective internal volume less than 1000 mL.

2 Normative references

The clauses contained in the following standards constitute the clauses of this standard through quotation in this standard. When this standard is published, all editions are valid. All standards will be revised, and all parties using this standard shall explore the possibility of using the latest version of the following standards.

GB/T 191-2008 Packaging - Pictorial marking for handling of goods

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions apply to this standard.

3.1 Receiver dryer

The receiver dryer is a device with drying and filtering functions, used to absorb residual moisture in the refrigeration system, filter residual impurities, store high-pressure liquid refrigerant.

3.2 Desiccant

The solid adsorbent used to adsorb residual moisture. In the refrigeration cycle, the desiccant shall be compatible with the refrigerant and refrigerated lubricating oil.

3.3 Pressure drop

The pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the refrigerant flowing through the receiver dryer.

4 Technical requirements

The receiver dryer shall meet the requirements of this standard and be manufactured in accordance with the drawings and technical documents approved by the prescribed procedures.

4.1 Appearance

The outer surface of the receiver dryer shall be clearly marked; the welding seam shall be uniform; there shall be no obvious scratches, defects, or oil stains. There shall be no foggy dust on the observation window.

4.2 Air tightness

When tested according to 5.3 of this standard, the leakage at any place shall not exceed 5 g/a; or otherwise when using high-purity nitrogen under 3.5 MPa pressure to test for 3 min, there shall be free form leakage.

4.5 Drying performance

4.6 Pressure loss

When tested according to 5.7 of this standard, the pressure difference between inlet and outlet shall meet the design requirements, generally not more than 20 kPa.

4.7 High temperature resistance

After the test in accordance with 5.8 of this standard, there shall be no abnormal deformation or damage in appearance; it shall meet the requirements of 4.2; the internal parts shall not be damaged.

4.8 Low temperature resistance

After testing in accordance with 5.9 of this standard, there shall be no abnormal deformation or damage in appearance; it shall meet the requirements of 4.2; the internal parts shall not be damaged.

4.12 Fusible plug performance

When tested according to 5.13 of this standard, if the temperature reaches 103.0 °C ~ 110.5 °C, the fusible plug shall be broken down.

4.13 Corrosion resistance

After 96 hours of neutral salt spray test according to 5.14 of this standard, the air tightness and pressure resistance shall meet the requirements of 4.2 and 4.3.

The outer surface coating of the iron receiver dryer shall be free of blisters, wrinkles, cracks or shedding, except for the local edge 3 mm; the underlying metal shall be free of corrosion.

5 Test method

5.1 Requirements for measuring instruments and meters

All test instruments and meters shall be within the valid period of use and shall be accompanied by the required certificates.

5.1.1 The accuracy of the temperature measuring instrument shall not be less than ± 2 °C; the minimum graduation shall not exceed 2 times the specified accuracy.

5.1.4 The accuracy of the analytical balance is not less than 0.1 mg.

5.1.5 The filter paper's accuracy is not less than 8 µm.

5.1.6 The accuracy of the leak detector is not less than 0.5 g/a.

5.2 Appearance quality and external dimension inspection

Visual inspection of the appearance quality shall meet the requirements of 4.1 of this standard.

5.3 Air tightness test

Choose at least one of the following test methods.

5.3.1 Room temperature is 20 °C ~ 30 °C. Under the conditions of presence of safety devices, fill the HFC-134a into the receiver dryer to make it be saturated.

5.4 Pressure resistance test

Under protective conditions, the receiver dryer is filled with liquid medium; slowly increase the pressure to 5.3 MPa; hold the pressure for 2 minutes. After inspection, if there is no leakage or obvious deformation, the pressure is slowly increased to 10.5 MPa and the pressure is maintained for 3 minutes, without breaking. Increase the pressure until the product breaks; record the breaking value.

5.5 Internal cleanliness test

After the filter paper is placed at a temperature of 90 °C ± 5 °C for no less than 30 minutes, immediately weigh it (A). At room temperature of 20 °C ~ 30 °C, pour isooctane solvent about 30% of the volume of the receiver dryer; shake it 4 ~ 5 times; pour it out from the outlet and use filter paper to filter it. Then place the filter paper under 90 °C ± 5 °C for no less than 30 minutes. Then weigh it immediately, therefore.

5.6 Drying performance test

5.6.1 Determine the water absorption capacity of the desiccant in the receiver dryer according to the measurement method of molecular sieve static water capacity in GB/T 6287.

5.7 Pressure loss test

The test is carried out on special test equipment. Fill the system with a sufficient amount of liquid refrigerant; remove the non-condensed gas from the system; keep the refrigerant flowing through the accumulator at liquid state; adjust and control the refrigerant temperature to stabilize it at 60 °C ± 5 °C. Adjust flow control, to make the flow at 130 L/h ± 5 L/h. Measure the pressure difference at the inlet and outlet of the receiver dryer.

5.13 Test of fusible plug performance

Submerge the receiver dryer equipped with fusible plugs in an 80 °C oil tank.

Fill the receiver dryer with liquid medium. During the heating process, the internal pressure is controlled at 4.2 MPa ± 0.1 MPa. The oil tank is heated at the rate of 1 °C/min. First pay attention to whether there are bubbles in the fusible alloy on the fusible plug; then record the temperature when the fusible alloy is broken down and the pressure in the receiver dryer drops sharply. This temperature is the breakdown temperature of the fusible plug.

6 Inspection rules

6.1 Inspection classification

The inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection according to this standard and product drawings.

6.2 Exit-factory inspection

Carry out exit-factory inspection in accordance with 4.1 and 4.2 of this standard.

The sampling plan and qualified quality level shall be negotiated and determined by the supplier and the buyer through negotiation.

6.3 Type inspection

6.3.3 When there are unqualified items in the type inspection, the unqualified items shall be doubled for re-inspection. If it is still unqualified, the type test is considered unqualified.

7 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage

7.1 Marking

The receiver dryer shall be marked with a logo or a nameplate on the specified position. The logo or nameplate shall indicate the manufacturer's name (code) and trademark, product model or serial number, production date, refrigerant type; meanwhile indicate the location of the inlet or the direction of refrigerant flow.

7.2 Packaging

7.2.1 The following contents shall be marked outside the packing box.

7.3 Transportation and storage

7.3.1 During transportation, it shall avoid heavy pressure, anti-vibration, moisture, rain; it shall not put it upside down or sideways. […]
