Scope
QC/T 564-2018 is the English-translated version of 乘用车行车制动器性能要求及台架试验方法.
QC/T 564-2018 covers the service brake of a passenger car, setting out terms and definitions, performance requirements, test-related requirements, test preparation and test methods, with a normative Appendix A on the braking torque value method.
It applies to service brake assemblies and friction lining (lining block) assemblies for the category M1 passenger cars classified in GB/T 15089.
Clause 4 asks for an average braking torque no lower than 80% of the lower design limit in the first efficiency test, or 72% of the design value where no lower limit is given, for at least 75% of the second efficiency test value in the first room temperature efficiency test, for an average deceleration of no less than 3.0 m/s² in the optional pipeline failure test, and for braking noise below 76 dB(A).
The work is done on an inertial brake bench with indicating instruments of accuracy grade no lower than 2.5, brake drum radial runout no greater than 0.2 mm and thermocouples installed to QC/T 556, at an initial braking temperature of 80 ± 2 °C in the first efficiency test and with running-in at a deceleration of 3.5 m/s², before the fading recovery, abrasion and post-wear efficiency tests.
It replaces QC/T 564-2008, was issued on 4 July 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009 "Directives for standardization - Part 1: Structure and drafting of standards".
This standard replaces QC/T 564-2008 "Performance requirements and bench test methods for passenger car brake". Compared with QC/T 564-2008, the main technical changes are as follows.
- MODIFY the definitions of the terms "average braking torque" and "average braking pressure" (see 3.3, 3.6; 3.3 and 3.6 of the 2008 edition);
- ADD the terms and definitions of "invariable input mode" and "invariable output mode" (see 3.13, 3.14)
- MODIFY the benchmark vehicle speed and speed stability evaluation indicators for the braking torque evaluation in the efficiency test (see 4.1.1, 4.1.3, 4.1.8; 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.5 of the 2008 edition);
- ADD the room temperature efficiency test (see 4.1.2, 4.1.7, 7.1.4, 7.1.13);
- ADD the one pipeline failure test (see 4.1.4, 7.1.7);
- ADD the thermal efficiency test after the fading test (see 4.1.5c), 7.1.9.3);
- ADD the quantitative evaluation method and evaluation indicator of brake drag phenomenon, after the decline recovery test (see 4.1.5 d), 7.1.9.6.1);
- ADD the braking efficiency test after the wear test (see 4.2.2, 7.2.5)
- ADD the calculation method of the rotation moment of inertia for the failure test of one pipeline (see 6.3.2);
- MODIFY the initial brake temperature of the wear test (see 7.2.4; 7.2.3 of the 2008 edition).
