QC/T 251-1998 is the English-translated version of 矿用自卸汽车应急转向性能试验.
QC/T 251-1998 is a recommended Chinese automotive industry standard on the emergency steering of mining dump trucks. It fixes the minimum performance that the emergency steering must deliver when the engine or the steering power source fails while the vehicle is being driven.
The requirements are written for mining dump trucks that carry an emergency steering capability. The standard quotes QC/T 76.6-1993 from the mining dump truck test series, and it was drawn up with reference to SAE J53-84, SAE J1511-94 and ISO 5010, each in a non-equivalent manner. Issued on 28 May 1998, it has applied since 1 July 1998.
