1 Scope

This standard specifies the measurement methods for the dimensional characteristics of automotive disc wheel attachment on hubs.

This standard is applicable to automotive disc wheels.

3 Sample for measurement

The sample for measurement shall be a new wheel that has been fully machined and has not been used or tested.

4 Measurement items

4.1

For wheels centred by the centre bore, three items shall be measured: Centre bore diameter, bolt hole diameter, and positional tolerance of bolt holes.

4.2

For wheels centred by the nut seats, five items shall be measured: Centre bore diameter, bolt hole diameter, nut seat diameter, positional tolerance of nut seats, and spherical radius or taper angle of nut seats.

5 Measurement of wheel attachment dimensions

5.1 Measurement of centre bore and bolt hole diameters

5.1.1

Measuring instruments.

The centre bore and bolt hole diameters shall be measured using a vernier caliper with an appropriate measuring range and scale division, or a special go-no-go gauge.
