Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard is a revision of QB/T 2155-2010 Travelling case and trolley bag. Compared with QB/T 2155-2010, apart from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

- the normative references and the product classification have been revised and extended;

- requirements for raw materials and accessories have been added, and the requirements for superior-grade products have been deleted;

- the specified load of the case (bag) has been defined in more detail;

- the requirements and test methods for travelling performance, oscillation impact, stitching strength and colour fastness to rubbing of the shell fabric have been revised;

- impact resistance has been replaced by drop performance, with a more detailed test method;

- the hardness of the aluminium frame of the case, lock durability, corrosion resistance of hardware fittings and drum impact performance have been revised;

- the requirements and test method for zipper flat pull have been deleted, and a method for measuring volume has been added;

- the marking requirements have been revised and moved from Clause 4 to Clause 7.

This standard was proposed by the China National Light Industry Council and is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Leather Industry of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 252).

It replaces QB/T 2155-2010 from its implementation date. Previous editions: QB/T 2155-1995, QB/T 2155-2004, QB/T 2155-2010.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of travelling cases (hard and soft cases) and trolley bags.

It applies to travelling cases and trolley bags used for carrying clothing and belongings, fitted with travelling wheels and pull rods.

3 Product classification

3.1 By variety: travelling hard case; travelling soft case; trolley bag.

3.2 By shell material: leather; artificial or synthetic leather; reconstituted leather; textile fabric; metal; plastic; several materials combined (composite shell); other materials.

3.3 By type: a) upright (vertical); b) horizontal.

4 Requirements

4.1.1 Travelling case: the specification (length) and its permissible deviation shall be as given in Table 1. Lengths from 455 mm (18 inch) and below up to 635 mm (25 inch) have a permissible deviation of ±5 mm; lengths from 660 mm (26 inch) up to 835 mm and above have a permissible deviation of ±6 mm. Export products shall comply with the contract.

4.1.2 Trolley bag: trolley bags fitted with travelling wheels and pull rods shall comply with the design specification, with a permissible deviation of ±5 mm.

4.2 Raw materials and accessories: raw materials and accessories shall be selected in accordance with the relevant product standards.

4.2.1 Limits of harmful substances: leather and reconstituted leather shall meet GB 20400 and Table 2; PVC artificial leather shall meet GB 21550; textile fabrics shall meet Table 2; adhesives shall meet the limits of Table 3 for solvent-based and water-based adhesives (benzene, toluene plus xylene, free toluene diisocyanate, n-hexane, 1,2-dichloroethane, total halogenated hydrocarbons and total volatile organic compounds).

4.2.2 Case (bag) locks: shall meet QB/T 1586.1.

4.2.3 Travelling wheels: shall meet QB/T 1586.2.

4.2.4 Handles: shall meet QB/T 1586.3.

4.2.5 Pull rods: shall meet QB/T 1586.5.

4.2.6 Hardware fittings: shall meet QB/T 2002.1 and QB/T 2002.2.

4.2.7 Zippers: shall meet QB/T 2171, QB/T 2172 and QB/T 2173.
