NB/T 42066-2016 is the recommended Chinese energy industry standard for 6 kV to 35 kV dry-type power transformers with aluminium windings.

It fixes the terms and definitions, the product types, the performance parameters, the technical and structural requirements, the welding quality requirements with the welding process and its inspection, the inspection rules and methods, and marking, packaging, transport and storage.

It covers indoor three-phase power transformers at 6, 10, 20 and 35 kV, rated frequency 50 Hz, rated capacity 30 kVA to 25000 kVA, with off-circuit or on-load voltage regulation and aluminium winding conductors.

Gas-filled transformers are outside its scope. It cites GB 1094.1, GB 1094.5, GB 1094.11, GB/T 1094.12, GB/T 2900.95, GB/T 22072, GB/T 22086, JB/T 501 and YS/T 713. Issued on 7 January 2016, it has applied since 1 June 2016.
