NB/T 20420-2017 is the English-translated version of 核电厂安全级电缆及接头鉴定.
NB/T 20420-2017 is the Chinese energy industry standard on qualifying class 1E electric cables and their splices for nuclear power plants. It gives the basic principles, the requirements and the guidance to be followed when safety class cables and joints are qualified.
The cables it covers are safety class medium and low voltage power cables together with control and instrumentation signal cables, and the coverage reaches communication cables and their connectors; wires and cables inside electrical equipment may be qualified in the same way.
Safety class optical cables in nuclear power plants are left outside its scope. It quotes GB/T 11026, GB/T 12727 and parts 12, 22 and 32 to 36 of GB/T 18380. Issued on 10 February 2017, it has applied since 1 July 2017.
