NB/T 20369-2016 is the Chinese energy industry standard, recommended in status, that sets out the requirements for preparing and implementing severe accident management guidance (SAMG) at nuclear power plants.

It covers the drafting of the guidance documents, their implementation and their continuing management, so that plant staff have an agreed framework once conditions go beyond the design basis.

The standard applies to the preparation, implementation and management of severe accident management guidelines for nuclear power plants, and existing as well as future plants may use it as a reference.

It quotes GB/T 17680.6 together with the regulatory documents HAF 102, HAF 103 and HAD 102/17. Classified F65 in the Chinese system and 27.120.20 internationally, it comes from the National Energy Administration. Issued on 5 February 2016, it has applied since 1 July 2016.
