Scope
NB/T 20063-2012 is the English-translated version of 核电厂仪表和控制术语.
NB/T 20063-2012 is a glossary of terms for instrumentation and control (I&C) in Chinese nuclear power plants, which other nuclear facilities may also use.
Entries are grouped into basic concepts such as operational states, normal operation and design basis; I&C systems and devices, including systems important to safety; computer applications, from application and operational system software to pre-developed software and software failure; the man-machine interface, notably alarm prioritisation, processing and validation; qualification terms such as baseline parameter, installed life and qualified life; and test and maintenance, including overlap, functional and preoperational tests and maintenance bypass.
Many definitions cite HAF 102, IAEA, IEEE and earlier NB/T and GB/T documents, and an English index closes the text. Issued on 6 January 2012, it has applied since 6 April 2012.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies common terms and definitions related to instrumentation and control (I&C) for nuclear power plants and their power sources.
This standard applies to applications for nuclear power plant; other nuclear facilities can be used with reference to it.
2 Basic concepts
2.1 Operational states
A collective name for two types of states, normal operation and anticipated operational occurrences. [HAF 102 (2004)]
2.2 Normal operation
The operation of nuclear power plants within specified operating limits and conditions. [HAF 102 (2004)]
2.3 Design basis
Information that determines the value, or range of parameters, of a structure, system, component, or device that performs a specific function and is a design boundary. This information can be either limits (derived from generally accepted practices to achieve a functional goal), or some requirements [derived from operational analysis of the assumed events wherein the structures, systems, components shall meet their functional objects and (or) operational experience]. [ANSI/ISA-67.06.01.2002, definition 3.5]
3 Instrumentation control systems and device
3.1 Instrument control system
3.1.1 Electrical system
Integration of electrical device that performs a certain function. [RCCE 2005]
3.1.2 Instrumentation and control system (l&C system)
A system based on electrical, electronic, and/or programmable electronic technology, that performs I&C functions as well as service and supervision functions related to the operation of the system itself.
3.1.3 I&C systems important for safety
The instrumentation control system whose failure or malfunction may cause the plant personnel or the public to experience excessive radiological exposure to the instrumentation and control systems, as well as those instrumentation control system to prevent unforeseen consequences of anticipated operational occurrences, including safety systems and safety-related instrumentation control systems.
4 Computer applications
4.1 Computer-based system
The I&C system whose functions are mainly dependent on or completely implemented by microprocessors, programmable electronics or computers. [NB/T 20026-2010, definition 3.10]
4.2 Software
Programs (ordered instruction sets), data, rules, and all related documents related to the operation of computer-based I&C systems. [NB/T 20054-2011, definition 3.30]
4.4 Application function
The function of an I&C system that performs tasks that are related to a controlled process and not related to the functions of the system itself.
Note 1. The application function is usually a sub-function of the I&C function.
Note 2. Rewrite NB/T 20026-2010, definition 3.1.
4.5 Application software
The part of the I&C system software that implements application functions. [NB/T 20026-2010, definition 3.2]
4.6 Operational system software
Software running on the target processor during operation, such as software for. input and / or output drivers, services, interrupt management, scheduler, communication driver, application-oriented libraries, online diagnostics, redundancy, degradation management. [NB/T 20054-2011, definition 3.22]
4.9 Software modification
A modification to an approved file (or set of files), such modification will result in a change in executable code.
Note: In the early stages of software development (for example, faults found in later stages of development) and in the stage where the software has been used, software modification behavior may exist. [NB/T 20054-2011, definition 3.32]
4.10 Pre-developed software (PDS)
Existing software available as a commercial or proprietary product for computer-based systems.
4.11 Software failure
A system failure due to a design fault in a software component.
Note 1. Because the software consists only of the design without wear or physical failure, all software failures are caused by design faults. Because the triggering events that activate software faults occur randomly during system operation, software failure also occurs randomly.
5 Man-machine interface
5.1 Alarms
When the meter's reading exceeds a setting value or exceeds the setting range, an audible or visual signal is triggered on the alarm panel and other displays, to provide field personnel with information about the device or event. [GB/T 4960.6-2008, definition 4.4.23]
5.5 Alarm prioritization
Alarm signal processing function or mechanism for alarms classified by importance.
Note: Priority can be defined in advance or determined dynamically based on plant operating conditions. [NB/T 20027-2010, definition 3.12]
5.6 Alarm signal processing
The logic or mechanism for processing the alarm signal before identifying the alarm and passing it to the alarm display processing unit for display to the operator.
5.7 Alarm signal validation
The alarm signal processing function or mechanism, which is used to determine whether the alarm signal correctly expresses the corresponding process or system status.
6 Qualification
6.1 Device qualification
6.1.1 Baseline parameter
The initially determined technical data, which is used as a benchmark for evaluating the acceptable performance of the qualified sample. [IEEE 572.2006, definition 3.1]
6.1.6 Design life
The time it takes for a device to meet its required performance under a specified set of operating conditions. [IEEE 323.2003, definition 3.7]
6.1.7 Installed life
The period from installation to removal of a device or component, during which the device or component can withstand the design operating conditions.
Note: In the case of periodic replacement of certain components, the device may have a 40a installed life, so the installation life of the components may be less than 40a. [GB/T 12727-2002, definition 3.10]
6.1.8 Qualified life
The time that a structure, system, or component has been tested, analyzed, and / or operationally proven to be capable of operating within acceptance criteria under specific operating conditions, while maintaining the execution of the safety functions under design basis accident or seismic conditions. [IEEE 323.2003, definition 3.16]
7 Test and maintenance
7.1 Test
7.1.1 Qualification testing
Testing to prove to a user that a software item or system meets its specified requirements. [GB/T 13629-2008, definition 3.36]
7.1.6 Overlap testing
In order to check the function of the entire channel, train or load group, tests performed on different parts or subsystems of the channel, train or load group. Testing of different parts or subsystems shall cover adjacent components. [GB/T 5204-2008, definition 3.5]
7.1.7 Functional test
A test to determine that a component or system performs its intended function. [GB/T 5204-2008, definition 3.7]
7.1.8 Performance test
