NB/T 20008.16-2012 is the Chinese energy industry standard covering cobalt-base alloy for the control rod drive mechanism of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, the sixteenth part of the NB/T 20008 series on other reactor materials.
It sets the technical requirements for the manufacture of GH5605 cobalt-base alloy bar, together with its chemical composition, mechanical properties, metallographic examination and non-destructive testing.
The material is intended for the latch and pin parts of the control rod drive mechanism, for link pins and for the round bar used in the drive head. It quotes the GB/T 223 family of chemical analysis methods and with GB/T 228.1, GB/T 229, GB/T 230.1, GB/T 905, GB/T 2975, GB/T 4162-2008 and GB/T 4338.
It replaces EJ/T 1122-2000. Issued on 19 October 2012, it has applied since 1 March 2013.
