NB/T 10740-2021 is the Chinese energy industry standard that sets out the daily safety inspection routine for large haul trucks working in open pit coal mines.
It deals with diesel-powered mining dump trucks of more than 90 t payload, including electric-drive models, and covers driver safety management, truck repair and maintenance, safe operation, the condition of haul roads and the transport environment, and traffic control in the working area.
Separate clauses give the inspection methods and pass/fail criteria, with service, secondary and parking brakes and the retarder among the defined systems, and an informative annex provides a daily safety checklist.
Mine operators and their safety staff use it for routine pre-shift checks on the truck fleet. Issued on 16 November 2021, it has applied since 16 February 2022.

1 Scope
This document specifies the general rules, general requirements, driver safety management, and maintenance of trucks in open-pit coal mines.
Repair and maintenance, safe operation and management of trucks, transportation environment guarantee, traffic management in workplaces, inspection methods and judgment standards.
This document is applicable to the daily safety inspection of large trucks in opencast coal mines.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Mining dump truck
Dump trucks with a load of more than 90t and powered by diesel engines for mines.
Note: Including electric drive mining dump trucks.
3.2 Service brake system

3.3 Auxiliary braking system
