Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document replaces LY/T 1803-2008 "Transverse Planing Machine Planer Blades". Compared with LY/T 1803-2008, the only changes are structural adjustments and editorial modifications.

Aside from the modifications, the main technical changes are as follows.

--The scope of application has been changed, and content on longitudinal planer blades has been added (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2008 edition).

--Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

--Added methods for classifying planers, their specifications, and model designations (see 4.2~4.4);

--The specifications for the main parameters have been added (see Table 2);

--The requirements for the hardness of the blade of a transverse planer have been changed (see 6.3, 5.3 in the 2008 edition).

--Added requirements for longitudinal planer blades (see 6.7.1, 6.7.5);

--Added testing methods (see 6.3~6.5, 6.8, 6.9).

1 Scope

This document specifies the structure, specifications, main parameters, requirements and testing methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and transportation of planer blades for slicing machines.

Storage.

This document applies to planer blades (hereinafter referred to as planer blades) used for planing veneers in both longitudinal and transverse directions.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 14897.1 and LY/T 1382, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.

Veneer slicer knife

A tool with a straight cutting edge used for slicing veneer and engineered wood.
