Scope

JC/T 2924-2026 is the English-translated version of 高岭土单位产品能源消耗技术要求.

JC/T 2924-2026 specifies the energy consumption grades, technical requirements, scope of statistics and calculation method for the energy consumption per unit product of kaolin clay. It applies to enterprises that produce kaolin powder from kaolin ore, for calculating and assessing their energy consumption, and for controlling energy consumption in new, rebuilt and extended projects. For burnt flint clay processed by calcination from kaolin ore, the energy consumption grades follow those for calcined kaolin used in the ceramics industry.

The standard is used by kaolin producers, energy managers and auditors, project designers and approval bodies who evaluate energy use in new capacity. Its code carries the letter T, so it is a voluntary (recommended) standard and not a mandatory one. It was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 18 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2026. It does not replace an earlier edition. The English translation of the full text helps foreign kaolin buyers and investors understand the Chinese energy consumption rules.

JC/T 2924-2026 is a recommended industry standard of the People's Republic of China in the Building Materials sector, approved and issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 18 March 2026, with effect from 1 September 2026.
