JB/T 8972-2011 is the English-translated version of YA、YA-W、YA-WF1系列增安型三相异步电动机（机座号315～450）技术条件.
JB/T 8972-2011 is the Chinese machinery industry standard for the YA, YA-W and YA-WF1 series of increased safety (Ex e) three-phase asynchronous motors, frame sizes 315 to 450.
It specifies the types, basic parameters and dimensions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and warranty of these motors, and motors derived from the series may apply it by reference.
It is built on the explosion protection requirements of GB 3836.1-2010 and GB 3836.3-2010 and on the general rotating machine standards GB 755-2008, GB/T 1032-2005 (test procedures for induction motors), GB 10068-2008 (vibration) and GB/T 10069.1-2006 (noise).
It replaces JB/T 8972-1999. Issued on 20 December 2011 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT Announcement 2011 No. 43), it has been in force since 1 April 2012. Classification: ICS 29.260.20, CCS K 25.

This standard specifies the types, basic parameters and dimensions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and warranty of the YA, YA-W and YA-WF1 series of increased safety three-phase asynchronous motors.
This standard applies to the YA, YA-W and YA-WF1 series of increased safety three-phase asynchronous motors (frame sizes 315 to 450). Motors derived from this series may also apply it by reference.
