JB/T 8824.4-2012 was issued by MIIT on 24 May 2012 and has been in force since 1 November 2012.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8824.4-1998.
It is one of 13 parts of the JB/T 8824 series.
2 Scope
This standard is the recommended machinery industry standard of China for nut taps that cut unified threads. It gives the type of the tap, its dimensions and the basic requirements for its marking. Nut taps for unified threads from No. 0 to No. 12 and from 1/4 to 4 are the tools it applies to, the numbered sizes and the fractional sizes both being covered. Chinese classification J41 and international classification 25.100.50 are recorded for it. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 20668, GB/T 20669, JB/T 8824.2 and JB/T 8824.3.
