This standard specifies the safety requirements for general-purpose synthetic fiber round lifting slings, describes the corresponding test methods, and specifies inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage. This standard applies to round lifting slings made of polyamide, polyester, polypropylene, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, and aromatic polyamide synthetic fiber materials with an ultimate working load not exceeding 100t (vertical lifting), as well as single-limb, two-limb, three-limb, and four-limb lifting slings (with or without end fittings) and other general materials and items used for lifting operations. This standard does not apply to the following types of round lifting slings and lifting environments: lifting slings used to secure or bundle goods together on pallets, platforms, or vehicles; tubular lifting slings without fillers; lifting people; and potentially hazardous items such as molten metal.
