This standard applies to the manufacture of flat lifting slings made of polyamide, polyester, polypropylene, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, and aromatic polyamide synthetic fiber materials with widths of 25mm to 600mm, as well as single-limb, two-limb, three-limb, four-limb, and ring-shaped lifting slings (with or without end fittings) for general materials and lifting operations.

This standard does not apply to the following types of flat lifting slings and lifting environments: bag-shaped lifting slings, mesh lifting slings (composed of several webbings sewn together crosswise), and lifting slings made of single-fiber webbing used for testing.
