1 Foreword

JB/T 8446-2013 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 31 December 2013 and has been in force since 1 July 2014.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8446-2005, JB/T 8446-1996.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard that sets out how interturn short circuits in rotor windings are measured on cylindrical rotor synchronous generators. It gives the measuring method for interturn short circuits in the generator rotor winding and the limit against which the measured value is judged. The field of application of JB/T 8446-2013 is the measurement of interturn short circuits in synchronous generator rotors. It replaces the 2005 edition of JB/T 8446. It quotes GB/T 1029.
