1 Foreword

JB/T 7744-2011 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 18 May 2011 and has been in force since 1 August 2011.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 7744-1995.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on the alloy powder used for plasma arc overlay welding of valve sealing surfaces. It sets the classification of the powder and the way its grades are designated, then the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage. The powders it applies to are those used for plasma arc surfacing of valve sealing surfaces on carbon steel, on alloy steel and on stainless steel. It quotes GB/T 1479, GB/T 1482 and the parts JB/T 3168.1, JB/T 3168.2 and JB/T 3168.3. It supersedes JB/T 7744-1995 and carries the Chinese classification J16 and the international classification 23.060.01.
