JB/T 6921-2017 was issued by MIIT on 9 January 2017 and has been in force since 1 July 2017.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 6921-2004, JB/T 6921-1993.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended standard of the Chinese machinery industry on Roots vacuum pump units. It covers the types and basic parameters, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, the safety requirements and measures, and the marking, packing, transport and storage of the unit. The units in question have a Roots pump as the main or intermediate pump, with a backing pump that may be a slide valve, rotary vane, water ring, oil ring or water ring atmospheric jet pump, an air-cooled Roots pump, or a reciprocating, screw or claw-type dry pump. It quotes GB/T 13306, GB/T 13384, GB 22360 and JB/T 7674. It supersedes JB/T 6921-2004.
