Scope

JB/T 6723.2-2014 is the English-translated version of 内燃机冷却风扇 第2部分:塑料冷却风扇 技术条件.

JB/T 6723.2-2014 is the Chinese machinery industry standard covering plastic cooling fan assemblies for water- and air-cooled petrol and diesel engines up to 1000 mm across.

It sets the classification, codes and model marking, then the requirements on the blade material, checked for density, tensile, impact and heat deflection properties, and on bolt hole position, blade setting angle, axial runout and static balance.

Reliability is proved by running the fan at 1.5 times rated speed for 2 min, by an alternating hot and cold test after which radial growth must stay within 0.5% of the outer diameter and air volume must not fall by more than 8.0%, and by 30 min at -35°C. Airflow is measured by the intake method of GB/T 1236-2000.

It replaces JB/T 6723.2-2008, was issued on 6 May 2014 and has applied since 1 October 2014.

4 Technical Requirements

4.10 Reliable performance

4.10.1 Overspeed resistant reliability

In a normal temperature environment, after the fan is operated at 1.5 times the rated speed for 2min, no defects such as cracks or looseness, etc. shall appear in all parts.

4.10.2 Reliability of resistance to cold and heat alternating

After the fan undergoes the test for reliability of resistance to cold and heat alternating specified in 5.9.3:

a) The axial circular runout of the axial blades on the same side of the fan shall comply with the provisions of Table 5;

b) The radial extension of the outer edge of the fan shall not exceed 0.5% of its outer diameter;

c) The decrease in air volume shall be no greater than 8.0% of the fan air volume before the test;

d) There must be no defects such as cracks or looseness, etc. in all parts of the fan.

4.10.3 Reliability of resistance to low temperature

When the airflow temperature is -35°C±2°C, the fan runs continuously at the rated speed for 30min, and there shall be no defects such as cracks or looseness, etc. in all parts of the fan.

5 Inspection Methods

5.1 Physical and chemical properties of fan blade materials

5.1.1 Pretreatment of specimen

Various specimens of fan blade materials for inspection of physical and chemical properties shall be adjusted conditions for more than 12h at an ambient temperature of 23°C±2°C and a relative humidity of 40 ~60% in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 2918-1998.

5.1.2 Density

Perform according to the provisions of Method A in GB/T 1033.1-2008. carried out with a position plug gauge.

5.3 Shape and position tolerance

5.3.1 The inspection for the position tolerance of the center circle of the fan bolt hole shall be carried out with a position plug gauge.

5.3.2 The inspection for the installation angle deviation of the fan blade shall be carried out by a Vernier angle ruler.
