1 Foreword

JB/T 6627-2008 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 1 February 2008 and has been in force since 1 July 2008.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 6627-1993.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard covering braided packings made of carbon and carbonized fibre impregnated with polytetrafluoroethylene. It classifies the models of these packings and sets their technical requirements, their test methods and the inspection rules. Its field of application takes in carbon fibre and carbonized fibre packings, in the types the standard distinguishes, impregnated with PTFE or with dip-moulded lubricants. It quotes JB/T 6371-2008. The standard replaces JB/T 6627-1993 and was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, with the Chinese classification J22 and the international classification 21.140.
