JB/T 5100-1991 is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for carbon steel investment castings. It sets out how such castings are classified and states the technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules that go with them. The standard applies to steel investment castings for general engineering use. Its chemical and mechanical references come from the GB series it quotes, among them GB 222 and the GB 223 parts for sampling and chemical analysis, GB 228, GB 229, GB 230 and GB 231, and GB 6414. It is classified J31, with castings. Issued on 15 July 1991, it has applied since 1 July 1992.
