JB/T 4220-2011 is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard that sets out a method for determining the lattice parameters of artificial graphite by X-ray powder diffraction on a diffractometer. It covers the principle of the measurement, the internal standard material, the instruments, the preparation of the sample, the test conditions and the test procedure, and it describes how the results are processed and calculated and what the test report has to contain. The method applies to artificial graphite with a high degree of graphitization obtained after high-temperature heat treatment, such as the graphite used for artificial diamond. It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 4220-1999 and quotes JB/T 8133.1-1999. Its Chinese classification is K16 and its international classification 29.120.
