Fast-switching thyristors are the subject of JB/T 4193-2013, a recommended machinery industry standard of China. It deals with symmetrical blocking, reverse blocking triode thyristors of the rapid type, called fast thyristors in the text, whose rated average on-state current in the case runs from 100 A to 3000 A. For these devices the standard fixes the type and the sizes, the ratings and characteristics, and the inspection arrangements. Its Chinese classification is K46 and its international classification 31.080.20. The standard replaces the earlier edition JB/T 4193-1997, and it quotes GB/T 4937-1995, GB/T 15291, JB/T 2423, JB/T 4277 and JB/T 7626-2013. It was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
