1 Foreword

JB/T 3294-2017 was issued by MIIT on 7 November 2017 and has been in force since 1 April 2018.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 3294-2005, JB/T 3294-1992.

2 Scope

JB/T 3294-2017 is a recommended standard of the Chinese machinery industry covering boron carbide within the conventional abrasives group. It sets out the technical requirements for boron carbide abrasive, the test methods used to check them, the inspection rules to be followed and the requirements for packaging. It quotes GB/T 2481.1, GB/T 2481.2, GB/T 4676, JB/T 6569 and JB/T 7993. It replaces JB/T 3294-2005, the number having carried this subject through earlier editions in 1983 and 1992 as well. The standard is classified as J43 in the Chinese system and 25.100.70 in the international one.
