1 Foreword

JB/T 13238-2017 was issued by MIIT on 12 April 2017.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard laying down the technical requirements for the melting furnaces used with die casting machines. It gives the terms and definitions and the product classification, then the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the technical classification, and finally marking, packaging, transport, storage, ordering and delivery. It applies to furnaces used in die casting production whose rated furnace atmosphere temperature stays below 1 300 degrees C, and chiefly to crucible-type and crucible-free melting furnaces for die casting alloys fired by electricity or natural gas. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 3235, GB/T 4208, GB 5226.1, GB/T 10066.1-2004, GB/T 10067.1-2005, GB 50184 and several parts of JB/T 3649. It carries the Chinese classification J61 and the international classification 25.120.30.
