Its field of application is alternating-current equipment working at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, with limits placed on rated voltage and on rated current. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 2900.18, GB/T 3187-1994, several parts of the GB/T 5080 series, GB 14048.1-2012 and GB/T 14048.11-2008. The Chinese classification recorded for it is K31 and the international classification 29.130.20.
