1 Foreword

JB/T 11189-2011 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 20 December 2011 and has been in force since 1 April 2012.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for floodlights intended for explosive gas atmospheres. It gives the product categories and the basic parameters of the floodlight, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions for marking, packaging, transport and storage. It applies to the design, the manufacture and the testing of these luminaires. The floodlights serve for the lighting of a local area in places where the surrounding atmosphere holds explosive gases and vapours. Among the standards it quotes are GB 3836.1-2000, GB 3836.2-2000, GB 3836.3-2000, GB 4208-2008, GB 7000.1-2007, GB/T 13384-2008, GB 14048.1-2006 and JB/T 3019-1999. Its Chinese classification is K35, with 29.260.20 internationally.
