HG/T 4844-2015 is the English-translated version of 低锌底漆.

HG/T 4844-2015 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for low zinc primers. It classifies the products, sets the requirements, and prescribes the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions for marking, packaging and storage. It covers low-zinc paints whose zinc content is less than 60 % but not less than 40 % of the non-volatile matter; such products are made up of zinc powder, a paint base, pigments, solvents and other components, and are used mainly against rust on steel in the atmospheric corrosivity categories C1 and C2. Testing follows a long list of paint methods, among them GB/T 1725-2007, GB/T 1766-2008, GB/T 1771-2007, GB/T 5210-2006, GB/T 8923, GB/T 9271-2008 and HG/T 3668-2009. Issued on 14 July 2015, it has applied since 1 January 2016.
