HG/T 4337-2012 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for solvent-free liquid epoxy coatings used on steel water pipelines. It classifies these coatings and then sets the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions for signs, packaging and storage. The coatings concerned are those used to protect steel pipe carrying fresh water against corrosion. A long list of paint and coating test standards is quoted and applied with it, among them GB/T 1725-2007, GB/T 1733-1993, GB/T 5210-2006, GB/T 9274-1988 and SY/T 0315-2005. Chinese classification G51 and international classification 87.040 place it with protective paints. Issued on 7 November 2012, it has applied since 1 March 2013.
