HG/T 4061.2-2008 is the second part of the Chinese chemical industry standard on magnetic stripes for cards, and it deals with the high coercivity stripe. It specifies the requirements for a stripe made with high coercivity material, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, labelling, packaging, storage and transport. High coercivity improves the stripe's resistance to accidental erasure, though no value for it is fixed here; tests are run on a card carrying the stripe, and any departure from them is agreed between the parties. The part applies to stripes on identity cards, paper cards, passbooks and similar articles. A non-equivalent adoption of ISO/IEC 7811-6:2001, it is used with GB/T 191, GB/T 2828.1, GB/T 6388, GB 18455, HG/T 4061.1-2008 and HG/T 4061.4-2008. Issued on 23 April 2008, it has applied since 1 October 2008.
