Rubber hoses and hose assemblies for dredging are the subject of HG/T 2490-2023, a recommended chemical industry standard. It states the requirements for two types, seven categories and three grades of wire or fabric reinforced hose with nominal internal diameters from 100 to 1300, all grades and sizes within a category sharing the same maximum working pressure. The hoses carry or draw seawater or fresh water mixed with mud, gravel, coral and small stones at a relative density between 1.0 and 2.3, at ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +40 °C. Type I is the floating hose, used only for delivery and including the buoyancy material; Type II is non-floating and used for both delivery and suction. The standard does not fix the service life of hoses or assemblies. It supersedes HG/T 2490-2011 and took effect on 1 February 2024.

Within each category, all grades and sizes have the same maximum operating pressure. This standard applies to rubber hoses that convey or absorb seawater or fresh water mixed with mud, gravel, coral and small stones with a relative density between 1.0 and 2.3 at an ambient temperature of -20��C to +40��C.
