HG/T 20636.5-2017 is part five of the recommended Chinese chemical industry code for the design management of instrumentation in chemical plants, and it deals with quality assurance. It states the quality responsibilities carried by staff at every level of instrumentation engineering design, the quality assurance measures that control the design process, and the quality assurance procedures that apply to the design documents themselves. The Chinese classification P94 and the international classes 25.040.40 and 71.010 place it with instrumentation and with standardization work. It is used with the companion parts HG/T 20636.3, HG/T 20636.6 and HG/T 20636.7 and with HG/T 20638. It supersedes HG/T 20636.8-1998. Issued on 7 November 2017, it has applied since 1 April 2018.
