Scope

GB/Z 5169.48-2024 is the English-translated version of 电工电子产品着火危险试验 第48部分:灼热丝/热丝基本试验方法 热丝圈试验 装置、确认试验方法和导则.

GB/Z 5169.48-2024 is Part 48 of the Chinese series on fire hazard testing of electric and electronic products, identical to IEC TS 60695-2-20:2021, and describes the hot wire coil test.

A specimen of solid electrical insulating material is wrapped with a heating wire and the time to ignition is measured, with the time of dripping recorded if molten drops fall.

The document details the test principle, apparatus, specimens, conditioning, test procedure, observations, evaluation and test report, and annexes explain how to wind the wire, assign the performance level category (PLC), draw the calibration curve for test current and interpret precision data.

Results support quality assurance, pre-selection of materials under IEC 60695-1-30, or checks that a material meets a required grade. Product committees are its intended users. It was issued on 29 September 2024.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

This document is Part 48 of "Fire Hazard Tests for Electrical and Electronic Products". See Appendix NA for part.

This document is equivalent to IEC /T S60695-2-20.2021 "Fire hazard tests - Part 2-20.Basic test method for glowing wire/hot wire" The document type was adjusted from IEC technical specifications to my country's national standardization. Guiding technical documents. The following minimal editorial changes were made to this document.

--- To be consistent with the existing series of standards, the name of this document is changed to "Fire hazard tests for electric and electronic products - Part 48: Hot Basic test methods for wire/hot wire. hot wire coil test equipment, confirmation test methods and guidelines";

--- Move some informative references in the normative references in Chapter 2 to the references;

--- Add informative appendix NA to list the published parts of "Fire hazard test for electric and electronic products".

Introduction

The design of all electrical and electronic products needs to consider the risk of fire and potential fire hazards. The design of components, circuits and parts The purpose of material selection is to reduce the potential fire risk to an acceptable level even if foreseeable misuse, malfunction or failure occurs.

The purpose of the Fire Hazard Test for Electrical and Electronic Products is to save lives by reducing the number of fires or the severity of fires. It can do so by.

---Prevent ignition of live parts as much as possible. If ignition occurs, limit the scope of the fire to the casing of the electrical and electronic products;

--- Minimize the spread of flames outside the product enclosure and the generation of harmful combustion products such as heat, smoke, toxic or corrosive gases. Minimize harmful impact.

The Fire Hazard Test for Electrical and Electronic Products now consists of 40 parts, divided into three major areas.

--- Fire hazard test assessment guidelines and terminology standards, including 1 terminology and 8 assessment guidelines, the purpose is to provide a professional field Provide guidance and reference procedures for fire hazard assessment;

---Fire test standards, including 5 basic glow wire/hot wire test methods, 9 flame test methods, and 2 abnormal heat resistance Test methods, 1 arc ignition test method, the purpose is to introduce suitable for electrical and electronic equipment manufacturers and testing institutions to use A small-scale test method using a specific heat source to simulate the heat source that causes a fire;

---Hazard assessment criteria for combustion flow, including 2 items of corrosiveness, 2 items of smoke blurring, 5 items of toxicity, 3 items of heat release, and 2 items of flame surface The purpose is to provide measurement of combustion toxicity, corrosiveness, smoke haze and heat release of electrical and electronic products and their materials. Guidelines and current technical status of test methods.

This test method is applicable to solid electrical insulating materials for which specimens are available. It is applicable to materials that do not deform during the preparation of the specimens, especially In particular, the material of the specimen is wrapped with heating wire in accordance with 5.5. Deformations for which this test method is not applicable include.

a) During the time when the heating wire is wrapped around the specimen, the specimen bends laterally or longitudinally, or twists, to an extent visible to the eye; or

b) Visible indentation of the specimen by the heating wire.

The classification method described in Appendix B can be used for pre-selection of materials.

1 Scope

This document describes a test method applicable to test specimens made of solid electrical insulating material. The test measures the The time required for ignition when the heat of the heating wire on it is affected. If the sample produces molten droplets, record the time of dripping.

The test method can be used to provide quality assurance classification and pre-selection of product materials as described in IEC 60695-1-30, or to verify the quality of finished products. The minimum grade required for the material to be used.

This document is intended for use by product committees in the preparation of standards in accordance with the principles set out in IEC Guide 104 and ISO /IEC Guide 51.

One of the tasks of the product committee is to use this series of standards wherever applicable when writing standards in this field.

Unless otherwise specifically mentioned or listed in the standard, the requirements, test methods or test conditions of this document shall not apply.
