7 Test methods
7.1 Raw materials. The performance tests of the blank material are carried out in accordance with GB/T 24181, GB/T 699 and GB/T 3077.
7.2 Dimensional deviations. 7.2.1 Using a measuring instrument meeting the required accuracy, measure the outer diameter of the blank along two mutually perpendicular diameters, to 0.1 mm; the maximum and minimum differences between measured and nominal values are the dimensional deviation. 7.2.2 Measure the blank thickness at the rim on four diameters at 45 degrees to each other, to 0.01 mm; the maximum and minimum differences from the nominal value are the thickness deviation, and the difference between the maximum and minimum measured values is the thickness variation within the blank. 7.2.3 On the teeth located on four diameters at 45 degrees to each other, measure the chord length on the tooth centre line, to 0.1 mm; the maximum and minimum differences from the nominal value are the tooth length deviation.
7.2.4 Measure the bore along two mutually perpendicular diameters, to 0.01 mm; the maximum and minimum differences from the nominal value are the bore diameter deviation. 7.2.5 On the slots located on four diameters at 45 degrees to each other, measure the maximum depth of the slot opening and the chord length on the centre line, to 0.1 mm; the maximum and minimum differences from the nominal values are the slot depth and slot width deviations. 7.2.6 On the slot holes located on four diameters at 45 degrees to each other, measure two mutually perpendicular hole diameters, to 0.1 mm; the maximum and minimum differences from the nominal value are the slot hole diameter deviation.
7.3 Surface quality. 7.3.1 Surface quality is inspected visually; defects such as cracks are inspected with a 10x magnifier. 7.3.2 Surface roughness is inspected by comparison in accordance with GB/T 6060.2.
7.4 Blank hardness. Hardness is tested with a Rockwell hardness tester at not fewer than 10 points evenly distributed on a circle 40 mm from the outer circumference, in accordance with GB/T 230 (all parts). The difference between the maximum and minimum hardness values within the specified range on one blank is the hardness variation within the blank.
7.5 Geometrical tolerances. 7.5.1 Radial circular run-out is measured with a dial indicator or a device of corresponding accuracy, using the bore as datum. The blank is fixed on a mandrel, the indicator stylus is placed perpendicular to the side of the blank on a circle 50 mm from the outer circumference (5 mm below the bottom of the water slot where slots exist), the blank is rotated slowly and the maximum and minimum readings are taken to 0.01 mm; their difference is the radial circular run-out tolerance.
7.5.2 Flatness is checked with a knife-edge straightedge of 0.02 mm accuracy and feeler gauges; the straightedge length shall be not less than 1/2 of the blade diameter. The check is made on both sides in an asterisk (star) pattern and in a square pattern around the blade centre; the highest value is the flatness. When the straightedge is too short, successive overlapping checks are made along the measuring line, with an overlap of not less than 1/3 of the straightedge length. 7.5.3 For axial run-out the blank is fixed on a mandrel; the face run-out of the flange shall not exceed 1/10 of the run-out tolerance of the blank being tested, and the flange diameter shall not exceed 1/3 of the blank diameter. The indicator stylus is placed perpendicular at the centre of the teeth on the rim (on the rim centre line when there are no slots), the blank is rotated slowly and the maximum and minimum readings are taken to 0.01 mm; their difference is the axial run-out.
7.5.4 Drive hole position: with general measuring instruments meeting the accuracy requirements, measure the hole diameter, the shortest distance between the drive hole and the bore and the shortest distance between drive holes, to 0.1 mm; the differences between these measured distances and the theoretically calculated values are the positional deviation of the drive holes.
8 Inspection rules

If one indicator fails, double the number of samples is taken from the batch for re-inspection; the batch is acceptable if all re-inspection results comply, otherwise it is non-conforming. If two or more indicators fail, the batch is non-conforming.
9 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage
9.1 Marking. 9.1.1 The following shall be marked on the blank at one third of the radius from the centre: a) manufacturer, trademark or factory name; b) product marking, product number or batch number; c) conformity mark. 9.1.2 If necessary, an arrow may indicate the direction of rotation, positioned opposite the factory mark at half the radius from the centre. 9.1.3 Markings shall be clear and durable.
