Scope

GB/Z 16935.2-2013 is the English-translated version of 低压系统内设备的绝缘配合 第2-1部分:应用指南 GB/T 16935系列应用解释,定尺寸示例及介电试验.

GB/Z 16935.2-2013 is a Chinese guiding technical document, identical in content with IEC/TR 60664-2-1:2011, that acts as the application guide for the GB/T 16935 series on insulation coordination for equipment within low-voltage systems. It was issued on 17 December 2013 and came into force on 9 April 2014. The document explains how the series is applied when clearances, creepage distances and solid insulation are dimensioned, and it is addressed to technical committees and to manufacturers. Clause 1 lists the matters that govern such dimensioning: the nominal system voltage or the rated insulation voltage, the overvoltage category of the product, overvoltage of any type, the frequency of the voltage, the characteristics of the solid insulating material, and the pollution degree together with the humidity level. Clause 3 gathers forty-seven terms drawn from parts 1, 3 and 4 of the series, from clearance and creepage distance to partial discharge inception voltage. Clause 4 sets out the dimensioning principles and their practical application, clause 5 gives four worked examples of dimensioning within equipment, clause 6 covers particular cases, and clause 7 gives a specimen dimensioning list based on case A of GB/T 16935.1-2008. Four informative annexes list the clauses of parts 1, 4 and 5 that leave decisions to technical committees, and give the dimensioning for DC voltages above 1 000 V.
