Scope
GB/Z 161-2026 is the English-translated version of 食品企业社会责任指南.
GB/Z 161-2026 is a Chinese guiding technical document that advises food companies on how to take up their social responsibility, and it is a modified adoption of ISO/TS 26030:2019 on applying ISO 26000:2010 in the food chain. It works from the seven core subjects and the issues set out in GB/T 36000-2015, is meant to be used together with that standard, and expands only what is specific to the food sector instead of repeating general material. The text defines food chain, supply chain, value chain and employability inside and outside the company, and adds content on fighting food waste. It applies to food production and processing enterprises; food safety requirements themselves stay in laws, regulations, policies and food safety standards. It was issued on 28 January 2026.
