Scope
GB/T 9105-2023 is the English-translated version of 眼镜镜片 光致变色镜片.
GB/T 9105-2023 is the Chinese national specification for uncut finished spectacle lenses that darken in light.
It defines the quantities such lenses are judged on: the luminous transmittance between 380 nm and 780 nm in the faded state and in the darkened state, and the darkening range taken as the difference between the two, measured under stated conditions - 23 °C by default, or 5 °C or 35 °C held within ± 2 °C where the manufacturer declares those, and 15 000 lx ± 1 500 lx for a declared medium illuminance.
Two normative annexes give the spectral functions used to work out ultraviolet transmittance and visible luminous efficiency. Clause 1 applies it to uncut photochromic lenses and excludes sunglasses.
It replaces GB 9105-1988, was issued on 6 August 2023 and has applied since 1 March 2024.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 9105-1988 "Photochromic Glass Lens Blank". Compared with GB/T 9105-1988, except for structural adjustments In addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Changed the relevant content of "scope" (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 1988 edition);
b) Changed the relevant content of "Terms and Definitions" (see Chapter 3, Chapter 2 of the 1988 edition);
c) "Product Classification" is deleted (see Chapter 3 of the 1988 edition);
d) The relevant content of "Technical Requirements" has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the 1988 edition);
e) The relevant content of "Test Methods" has been changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the 1988 edition);
f) "Inspection Rules" are deleted (see Chapter 6 of the 1988 edition);
g) Changed the relevant content of the "logo" (see Chapter 6, Chapter 7 of the 1988 edition);
h) The relevant content of "Packaging, Transportation and Storage" has been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the 1988 edition);
i) Added spectral function for ultraviolet transmittance calculation (see Appendix A);
j) The spectral optical efficiency function of the visible light band is added (see Appendix B).
1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements for photochromic lenses, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to uncut lenses with photochromic properties and provides test methods and inspection basis for the production of photochromic lenses. This document does not apply to sunglasses.
2 Normative reference documents
The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, the dated quotations For undated referenced documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated referenced documents, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 26397 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 TauV0
Under specified conditions, when the lens is in a faded state, the light transmittance of the wavelength is 380nm~780nm.
Note: The specified conditions are the contents of 5.3.1.4.
3.2 TauV1
Under specified conditions, the lens is in a discolored state and has a light transmittance with a wavelength of 380nm~780nm.
Note 1. The specified conditions are the contents of 5.3.1.4.
Note 2. If the manufacturer declares the transmittance of the sample at other temperatures (5°C or 35°C) than 23°C, then keep the sample at the specified temperature of 5°C or 35°C.
Under the temperature condition of 35°C, the temperature fluctuation is controlled within ±2°C. They are represented by tauVw and tauVs respectively, where tauVw is the low temperature and tauVs is the high temperature.
Note 3. If the manufacturer declares medium illuminance, measure under the conditions of 15000lx±1500lx, and multiply the irradiance value in Table 3 by 0.3. Pass The intensity attenuation of the irradiation light source is achieved by placing a colorless filter at an appropriate position in the light path.
3.3 Darkening range
deltatauD The difference between the light transmittance tauV0 of the lens in the faded state and the light transmittance tauV1 of the discolored state. The calculation formula is shown in formula (1). deltatauD=tauV0-tauV1 (1)
