Foreword

This Document was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for Standardization - Part 1: Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.

This Document replaced GB/T 8948-2008 Polyvinyl Chloride Artificial Leather. Compared with GB/T 8948-2008, the major technical changes of this Document are as follows besides the structural adjustments and editorial modifications.

a) Change the classification (see Clause 4 of this Edition; Clause 3 of the 2008 Edition);

b) Change the specification requirements (see 5.1 of this Edition; 4.1 of the 2008 Edition);

c) Change the appearance requirements (see 5.2 of this Edition; 4.2 of the 2008 Edition);

d) Change the general product performance requirements (see 5.3.1 of this Edition; 4.3.1 of the 2008 Edition);

e) Change the negotiated product performance requirements and test methods (see 5.3.2 and Appendix A of this Edition; 4.3.2, 5.13~5.18 of the 2008 Edition);

f) Change the standard environment for specimen preparation, specimen conditioning, and testing (see 6.1 and 6.2 of this Edition; 5.1 and 5.2 of the 2008 Edition);

g) Change the test methods for thickness, appearance, tensile load and elongation at break, tear load, peel load, color fastness to rubbing, and heat aging resistance (see 6.4, 6.6~6.13 of this Edition; 5.4, 5.6~5.12, 5.19 of the 2008 Edition);

h) Add test method for color migration (see 6.14 of this Edition);

i) Change inspection rules (see Clause 7 of this Edition; Clause 6 of the 2008 Edition);

j) Change marking, packaging, transportation, and storage (see Clause 8 of this Edition; Clause 7 of the 2008 Edition).

1 Scope

This Document specifies the classification and requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage requirements for polyvinyl chloride leatherette; and describes the test methods.

This Document applies to the production, inspection, and sale of polyvinyl chloride leatherette.

4 Classification

4.1 The products are classified according to the base fabric category, as shown in Table 1.

4.2 Products are classified into cold-resistant and ordinary products based on their cold resistance.
