Scope

GB/T 8746-2009 is the English-translated version of 纺织品 燃烧性能 垂直方向试样易点燃性的测定.

GB/T 8746-2009 — This standard specifies the test methods for textiles in the vertical direction of ease of ignition. This standard applies to all types of single-layer or multi-layer (such as a coat, quilted, multilayered, sandwich and similar combinations) fabrics and textile industrial products.

This standard applies to assessment under controlled laboratory conditions, the performance of the textile fabric with the flame contact. But may not apply to air supply Insufficient to occasion or heated for too long in the fire situation.

Seams for fabric flammability performance of this method can be measured, the seam is located on the specimen to withstand the test flame. Whenever feasible, Garnish as part of the fabric assembly should be tested.

Foreword

This revised standard adopts the International Standard ISO 6940:2004 "textile fabric flammability of ease of ignition of vertically oriented specimens measured set".

This standard is based on ISO 6940:2004 redrafted with the ISO 6940:2004 The main differences are as follows.

--- Replaces the "Normative references" in the international standards with the corresponding national standards;

--- Normative references, by deleting the text of the standard not referenced in GB/T 5456 (corresponding to ISO 6941), an increase of GB/T 6529;

--- The Chapter 8 for wet atmosphere "down at a temperature of 20 °C ± 2 °C, relative humidity of 65% ± 5% wet 24h" by the words "in Under standard atmospheric conditions GB/T 6529 regulations will be the humidity ";

--- Deletion of the timing device 5.6.2.

This standard replaces GB/T 8746-2001 "Textiles - burning behavior of vertically oriented specimens measuring ease of ignition," and this standard GB/T 8746-2001 compared to the main changes are as follows.

--- Range adds details about seams and decorative pieces;

--- Deleting the original standard "Normative references" cited the addition of two reference standards. GB/T 3291.3 and GB/T 6529;

--- Increase definitions. 3.4 "continuous burning";

--- The "test personnel health and safety", "constitute the test apparatus" and the content "test cabinet placement" are incorporated in Chapter 6, "note matter";

--- Chapter 5, "instrument" in the supplement to the timing device requirements;

--- The "sample and humidity control" into "samples" and "The humidity and atmospheric testing" two chapters;

--- The humidity will be from "at a temperature of 20 °C ± 2 °C, relative humidity of 65% ± 5% standard atmospheric balance 24h" replaced by " Under standard atmospheric conditions GB/T 6529 regulations will be the humidity ";

--- Content "test step" is divided into two chapters. "Instrument Setup" and "Test Procedure";

--- Increase in Chapter 12, "precision";

--- Original Appendix A of FIG igniter into a standard text.

Appendix A of this standard is a normative appendix, Appendix B and Appendix C are informative appendices.

The standard proposed by China Textile Industry Association.

This standard by the National Standardization Technical Committee on Basic Standards Subcommittee Textiles (SAC/TC209/SC1) centralized.

GB/T 3291.3 textile material properties and test - Part 3. General GB/T 6529 Textiles conditioning and testing using standard atmosphere (GB/T 6529-2008, ISO 139:2005, MOD)

3 Definitions

GB/T 3291.3 and established the following terms and definitions apply to this standard.

Flame ignition source is applied to the time the specimen.

Under test conditions, remove the ignition source material after sustained flaming combustion time.

Note. Continued burning time to the nearest integer, continued burning time is less than 1.0s should be recorded as zero.

Burning begins.

Continued burning time is greater than or equal to 5s, 5s continued burning or within reach the top or vertical edges.

Under test conditions, the material is exposed to an ignition source to obtain the minimum time required to sustain combustion.

Principle 4

A predetermined ignition flame produced on vertical or bottom surface of the sample ignition, measured on the sample to be applied to the sample from the flames the time required for ignition, and calculates the average.
