Scope
GB/T 8152.11-2023 is the English-translated version of 铅精矿化学分析方法 第11部分:汞含量的测定 原子荧光光谱法和固体进样直接法.
GB/T 8152.11-2023 is Part 11 of the Chinese series of chemical analysis methods for lead concentrates, and determines their mercury content.
It gives two methods: method 1 is atomic fluorescence spectrometry, in which the sample is dissolved in hydrochloric and nitric acid and the mercury is reduced with potassium borohydride in a hydride generator and carried by argon to the atomizer, with a measuring range of 0.00010% to 0.500% by mass; method 2 injects the solid sample directly and covers 0.0000010% to 0.0250%.
Clause 1 makes method 2 the arbitration method for lead concentrates whose mercury content lies between 0.00010% and 0.0250%. Its introduction states that the solid-injection method works in a fully closed system, which overcomes the loss of mercury by volatilisation.
It replaces GB/T 8152.11-2006, was issued on 23 May 2023 and has applied since 1 December 2023.

Introduction
Lead concentrate is the main raw material for the production of metallic lead, lead alloys, lead compounds, etc. Lead is second only to copper, aluminum, and zinc in the consumption of non-ferrous metals in my country.
GB/T 8152 "Chemical Analysis Methods of Lead Concentrates" stipulates the chemical analysis methods for the content of each element in lead concentrates, aiming to meet the quality requirements of lead concentrates. Arbitration and inspection needs.
GB/T 8152 consists of 17 parts.
--- Part 1. Determination of lead content acid dissolution-EDTA titration method;
--- Part 2. Determination of lead content - lead sulfate precipitation - EDTA back titration method;

GB/T 8152.11-2006 Determination of mercury content in lead concentrate by atomic fluorescence spectrometer. This revision adds the direct Law. The sample decomposition and determination of the direct method of solid sampling are completed in a fully closed system, which overcomes the disadvantages of mercury element volatilization and loss.
At the end, this method has high sensitivity, low detection limit, short sample analysis time, high degree of automation, and reduces the use of corrosive reagents.
Advanced, more environmentally friendly detection technology. The newly added direct method of solid sample injection is a powerful supplement to atomic fluorescence spectrometry.
1 Scope
This document describes a method for the determination of mercury content in lead concentrates.
This document applies to the determination of mercury content in lead concentrate. Method 1 is atomic fluorescence spectrometry, measuring range (mass fraction).
0.00010%~0.500%; method 2 is the direct method of solid sample injection, the measurement range (mass fraction). 0.0000010%~0.0250%.
For lead concentrates with mercury content (mass fraction) ranging from 0.00010% to 0.0250%, method 2 is used as the arbitration method.

4 Method 1 Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry
4.1 Principle
The sample is dissolved with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, and in the hydride generator, mercury is reduced to an atomic state by potassium borohydride, which is carried into the atomic state by the carrier gas (argon gas).
In the device, under the irradiation of a mercury hollow cathode lamp, mercury atoms in the ground state are excited to a high-energy state, and then return to the ground state from the high-energy state, emitting a characteristic wavelength Fluorescence, the fluorescence intensity is proportional to the mercury content, using the standard curve method to calculate the mercury content.
