GB/T 7568.4-2002 is the English-translated version of 纺织品 色牢度试验 聚酯标准贴衬织物规格.
Undyed polyester adjacent fabric suitable for use in assessing staining in color fastness tests. The staining characteristics of the polyester adjacent fabric to be tested shall be compared with the standard polyester adjacent fabric for evaluation, which shall be carried out by a piece of polyester stained reference fabric. All the reference fabrics shall be obtained from the prescribed supply.

Foreword
GB/T 7568 is divided into 7 parts:
- Specification for wool adjacent fabric;
- Specification for cotton and viscose standard adjacent fabric;
- Specification for polyamide standard adjacent fabric;
- Specification for polyester adjacent fabric;
- Specification for acrylic adjacent fabric;
- Specification for silk adjacent fabric;
- Specification for multi-fiber standard adjacent fabric.
This part is the part 4 of GB/T 7768. It modifies and uses the ISO 105-F04:2001 Textiles - Tests for color fastness - Part F04: Specification for polyester adjacent fabric (English version).
This part replaces the GB 7566-1987 Textiles - Tests for color fastness - Specification for standard adjacent fabric: Polyester, because the original standard is technically obsolete due to international development.
Since there is a national standard equivalent to the ISO standard in this part of the normative references, the degree of consistency between this part and ISO 105-F04:2001 is modified adoption.
For ease of use, this part has made the following editorial changes:
a) CHANGE the word "this part of ISO" into this part;
b) USE a decimal point “.” To replace the comma “,” which functions as a decimal point;
c) DELETE the foreword to international standards.
As compared with GB 7566-1987, the main changes in this part are as follows:
fabric into: Use the grey scale for discoloration assessment as specified in GB 250 to evaluate the polyester adjacent fabric to be tested after staining and the polyester reference adjacent fabric, the color difference shall be not more than 4 ~ 5;
- DELETE the contents of the original Chapter 6. ADD the informative appendix “Preparation of polyester adjacent fabric and stained reference fabric” (see Appendix A).
This part was proposed by the former State Textile Industry Bureau.
This part shall be under the jurisdiction of the Basic Branch of the National Textile Standardization Technical Committee.

1 Scope
This part specifies an undyed polyester adjacent fabric suitable for use in assessing staining in color fastness tests. The staining characteristics of the polyester adjacent fabric to be tested shall be compared with the standard polyester adjacent fabric for evaluation, which shall be carried out by a piece of polyester stained reference fabric. All the reference fabrics shall be obtained from the prescribed supply.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this part through reference in this part of GB/T 7568. For the dated references, the subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this part; however, parties who reach an agreement based on this part are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies.
3 Materials
3.1 Polyester adjacent fabric to be tested shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 4.
3.2 Polyester reference adjacent fabrics shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 4.
3.3 Polyester stained reference fabrics shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 4 and be stained by the use of the C.I. disperse red 4.
4 Requirements for polyester adjacent fabric
Polyester adjacent fabrics shall have the following characteristics:
The measurement shall be carried out under the instrument that meets the geometric conditions as specified in GB/T 8424.1, excluding 0/45 (45/0) conditions. The brightness (Y10), whiteness (W10), light tone index (T10) shall be measured and calculated in accordance with the CIE standard D65 light source as specified in GB/T 8424.2 and CIE1964 supplementary standard chroma observer (10° observer) conditions.
The pH value of the water extract: It shall be 7.0 ± 0.5 when measured according to GB/T 7573.
5 Evaluation of staining performance of tested polyester adjacent fabric
5.2 Test method
Sandwich a piece of polyester stained reference fabric (3.3) between a piece of tested polyester adjacent fabric (3.1) and a piece of polyester reference adjacent fabric (3.2). In order to eliminate possible differences in test conditions, the polyester standard adjacent fabric and the tested polyester adjacent fabric shall be applied to the same set of combined specimen. The combined specimen is tested for 30 s under the condition of 180 ± 2 °C, 4 kPa ± 1 kPa as specified in GB/T 5718.
5.3 Staining characteristics
Use the gray scale as specified in GB 250 to evaluate the stained polyester adjacent fabric to be tested and the stained polyester standard adjacent fabric. The color difference shall be not more than grade 4 ~ 5.
Appendix A Preparation of polyester adjacent fabric and stained reference
A.1 Preparation of polyester adjacent fabric
A.1.2 Warp and weft yarn
Weft yarn: 22 tex, Z-twisted, 783 twists per meter.
Yarn shall not contain fluorescent brightener. The warp shall not contain pulp.
A.1.3 Gray fabric
Reed width of loom: 127 cm;
A.1.4 Treatment
A.1.4.1 Boiling in dye vat
a) Water bath temperature 60 °C;
b) Use nonionic detergent (ethylene oxide poly-condensate) and sodium pyrophosphate;
c) Treatment once at 60 °C;
d) Increase the temperature to 95 °C and treat it once; drain the boiling liquid;
e) Wash it twice in 95 °C water, one treatment per washing;
f) Treat it in cold flowing water for three times.

A.2 Preparation of stained reference fabric
A.2.1 The stained standard fabric is dyed on polyester adjacent fabric by the use of C.I. disperse red 4 (Dye Index, 3rd Edition), at a bath ratio of 20:1. Add a corresponding amount of suitable carrier, such as 6% methyl biphenyl emulsion, 0.5% sodium ethylene diamine tetraacetate, 2 g/L ammonium sulfate.
