Scope
GB/T 6150.12-2023 is the English-translated version of 钨精矿化学分析方法 第12部分:二氧化硅含量的测定 硅钼蓝分光光度法和重量法.
GB/T 6150.12-2023 is part 12 of the Chinese methods for chemical analysis of tungsten concentrates and determines silicon dioxide by two methods.
Method 1, silicomolybdenum blue spectrophotometry, covers a mass fraction of 0.50 % to 10.00 % and method 2, gravimetry, covers 3.00 % to 10.00 %, with method 1 acting as the arbitration method where the ranges overlap.
Method 1 dissolves the sample in hydrochloric and nitric acid with phosphoric acid present, smokes it with perchloric acid to part the silicon precipitate from tungsten, takes the precipitate up in sodium hydroxide, oxidizes the remaining tungsten with potassium permanganate, forms silicomolybdic yellow with ammonium molybdate, clears phosphorus and arsenic with oxalic acid, reduces to silicomolybdenum blue and reads the absorbance at 660 nm.
It replaces GB/T 6150.12-2008, was issued on 6 August 2023 and applies from 1 March 2024.

The series of standardization documents for chemical analysis methods of tungsten concentrate are mainly drafted based on the technical indicators in the tungsten concentrate product standards. Since 1985 Since then, two versions of GB/T 6150 have been released. It has been more than ten years since GB/T 6150.12-2008 was released and implemented. During this period, its applicable products The standard has been revised in 2015 (YS/T 231-2015), and various technical indicators have undergone new changes. Upstream and downstream customers in the tungsten industry have Product testing also has new requirements, and analytical testing technology has also developed and progressed. In view of this, it is indeed necessary to revise GB/T 6150.12- It was revised in 2008 to ensure that the standard adapts to industry changes and market needs.
This document further improves the applicability of the standard and plays an important role in improving the quality of tungsten concentrate products, promoting its production, trade and expanding application demand. Masks are of great significance.

4 Method 1.Silicon Molybdenum Blue Spectrophotometry
4.1 Principle
Dissolve the sample with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid in the presence of phosphoric acid, add perchloric acid to smoke to separate the silicon precipitate from tungsten, dissolve the precipitate with sodium hydroxide, and use Sulfuric acid leaching, adding potassium permanganate to oxidize the tungsten contained in the precipitate into tungstic acid. After filtration, the silicon enters the solution and is further separated from the tungsten, and then in Silicon and ammonium molybdate are formed in dilute sulfuric acid medium to form silicon molybdenum yellow heteropoly acid, oxalic acid is added to eliminate the interference of phosphorus, arsenic and other elements, and ferrous ammonium sulfate is used to remove the silicon.
Molybdenum yellow is reduced to silicon molybdenum blue, and its absorbance is measured at the wavelength of 660nm with a spectrophotometer.
4.2 Reagents or materials
Unless otherwise stated, only reagents confirmed to be of analytical grade are used in the analysis.
4.2.1 Water, GB/T 6682, Level 2.
4.2.2 Sodium hydroxide.
4.2.3 Hydrochloric acid (rho=1.19g/mL).
