GB/T 591-2026 is the English-translated version of 船用法兰铸铁截止止回阀.

This standard covers marine cast iron flanged stop-check valves, also described as globe stop-check valves. It specifies classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging and storage, and it applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of valves used in marine piping systems for seawater, fresh water, fuel oil, and lubricating oil.

Valve makers, shipyards, ship designers, inspection bodies, and marine equipment purchasers can use it. A stop-check valve combines shutoff with protection against backflow, which is why it is common in shipboard pipework. It is a recommended national standard (GB/T), so it is voluntary unless a contract or class rule requires it.

This edition replaces GB/T 591-2008 and takes effect on 1 January 2027. It is related to the standard for marine cast steel flanged stop valves published in the same batch, which covers a different valve type.
