GB/T 5637-2008 is the English-translated version of 扩口式可调向端弯通三通管接头.

GB/T 5637-2008 specifies the dimensions, marking and technical requirements of flared straight thread run tee couplings and coupling bodies - run tees with a flared tube connection and an adjustable straight thread stud end - for hydraulic fluid power and general-purpose piping systems with tube outside diameters of 4 mm to 34 mm and maximum working pressures of 3.5 MPa to 16 MPa.

Table 1 and Figures 1 to 4 give the dimensions for tube sizes from 4 mm to 34 mm, with the flare-end threads from M10×1 to M45×2 and the adjustable-end threads from M10×1 to M42×2, across-flats, lengths and type A and type B body dimensions.

The adjustable end follows the L series in Annex A of GB/T 3765, the flared end follows GB/T 5652, and the marking and all technical requirements refer to GB/T 5653; the sleeve, nuts, lock nut and washer are those of GB/T 5646, GB/T 5647, GB/T 5648 and GB/T 5649.

It replaces GB/T 5637.1-1985 and GB/T 5637.2-1985, merging the coupling and body standards, adding a hexagonal blank, changing the adjustable-end dimensions, adjusting tolerances and moving the surface roughness requirements to GB/T 5653.

This standard is one of the series of standards for flared couplings.

This standard is a revision of GB/T 5637.1-1985, Flared adjustable-end right-angle tee coupling, and GB/T 5637.2-1985, Flared adjustable-end right-angle tee coupling body. The main revisions are as follows:

- the contents of the two standards have been merged;

- the Chinese and English names have been changed;

- a hexagonal blank structure has been added;

- the dimensions of the adjustable end have been changed;

- some parameters that should be controlled by the manufacturer have been removed;

- some tolerances have been adjusted in accordance with the current standards on tolerances and fits;

- the indication of surface roughness has been removed; the surface roughness requirements are given in GB/T 5653, Flared couplings - Specification.

From the date of its implementation, this standard replaces GB/T 5637.1-1985 and GB/T 5637.2-1985.

This standard was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.

This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Pipeline Fittings.
